It’s a thug life.

We open with ‘Dumond‘, a deep tech offering equally at home poolside or in the darkness of an after-party. The production of this track seems to stand out from the rest of the EP, with crisp, clear percussion nestled neatly in-between persistent chords and ‘electro’ squelches.
The S.Moreira remix of Dumond takes an all together funkier path, lightening the mood with an almost Latin groove. The chord riff hooks you in while the bongo / shaker combo keeps your toes tapping to the end.
‘Breaking3’ comes with a solid garage beat straight out of the 90s. As it develops, rising hats and delicate stabs bring this track firmly up to date and brings a more jackin’ house vibe.
The Bassa Clan remix of ‘4m8‘ closes out the EP with a relentless but undeniably deep bassline. Coupled with beautiful, light, floating pads, this track conjures images of sunset boat parties and summer nights.

From humble beginnings at the legendary (but sadly now closed) Luton venue Charlie Brown’s, Taste The Punch has grown into a touring force of the UK club scene, hosting heavyweight DJs like Pete Tong, Drumsound & Bassline Smith, B.TRAITS, Hector Couto, Darius Syrossian and Mark Knight. Now, with less than a week before their debut Ibiza residency at Eden, we chat to the TTP’s Craig about the journey so far, and what the future holds for this exciting brand.
Brain child of brothers Craig and Dean Shields, TTP is the epitome of grass roots promoting, born from a love of great music and the “anyone is welcome” attitude that events outside London seem to create so easily. Since just 2013 the night has grown with every show, partly due to a music policy spanning house, techno, EDM, DnB, garage and more, creating a “mental” party atmosphere that keeps people returning time and time again.
“Being the best they could possibly be” is the mantra for the TTP team so with UK success firmly in hand, international dates were the natural next step. Inspired by Ibiza’s evolving club landscape, and with the help of a cheeky tip off by none other than Judge Jules, the TTP team approached Eden with an impressive plan to fill into the mammoth hole left by Judgement Sundays and have managed to pull off one of the biggest and most diverse line-ups on the island this summer. Starting with Felix Da Housecat on Friday 16th June and going on to include DJ Sneak, Marshall Jefferson, Faithless, Mike Skinner, Chus+Ceballos, Stefano Noferini plus two exclusive techno sets from Mixmash Records boss, Laidback Luke. Taste the Punch will be at Eden every Friday until 29th September, be sure to check them out this summer.
